Other useful links under a broad purview, an eclectic assortment of useful links. Eclectic means broad or varied or diverse. To include Youtubers, Tiktokers, and other Social Media Platforms. If they’re on the internet, it’s assumed that they’re okay with being public.

Mycodo – Founded by Kyle Gabriel, Mycodo is an open source software for sensing environmental inputs, with it’s own reddit forum, users have used this software to grow mushrooms and for other systems like hydroponics or hi-tech indoor greenhouses. Mycologue Publications – “Find over 800 images of fungi online as an introduction to our compact mycological encyclopedia, The Fifth Kingdom. These online images illustrate mushrooms, mycorrhizas, medical mycology, yeasts, lichens, food spoilage, fermented foods, plant diseases, symbioses with animals, and edible, poisonous, and hallucinogenic fungi.” At the website Mycolog.com

Tree of Life Web Project– a collaborative effort of biologists and nature enthusiasts from around the world. On more than 10,000 World Wide Web pages, the project provides information about biodiversity, the characteristics of different groups of organisms, and their evolutionary history. Website here. MushroomExpert.com – a large database of a lot of mushrooms and classifications and diving into the depths of available knowledge that there is created by Michael Kuo. A great resource for researching broad information about particular things. Mushroom Expert Does not contain information about edibility or toxicity of mushrooms. Website here.

Fungal Diversity Survey (FUNDIS) – Our VISION: a world in which the fungal kingdom is fully documented, understood, appreciated, and protected. Our MISSION: FunDiS protects biodiversity through the conservation of fungi and their habitats by increasing knowledge and public awareness of their diversity and distribution, equipping and engaging community scientists, and partnering with land managers, conservationists, and scientists. David Fischer’s North American Mushroom Basics – AMERICANMUSHROOMS.COM was formally launched on March 7, 2006 by DAVID W. FISCHER. The site is intended to educate, inform, and entertain the general public in addition to veteran mycophiles and mycologists. Strong emphasis is placed on assuring the accuracy and usefulness of the information provided at the Website. The site now includes 1,046 photos representing some 482 species of fungi.

Mushroom Observer (MO) – A website to record observations about mushrooms, help people identify unfamiliar mushrooms, and expand the community around the scientific exploration of mushrooms (mycology). Website here.

The Mycorrhiza Network – publishes, since 1988, a newsletter on a quarterly basis to provide a forum for dissemination, acquisition, interaction, and communication of scientific information on mycorrhizal research and activities. So far, it has published 350 peer reviewed papers/research findings from eminent scientist covering the biological, ecological, and other related aspects of mycorrhiza, including biodiversity and conservation. Other components of the newsletter include notes on important breakthroughs, brief accounts of new approaches and techniques, research activities highlighting the Centre for Mycorrhiza Culture Collection, forthcoming events on mycorrhiza and related events, and important references of research papers published in different national and international journals. Mushroom the Journal’s Myco-etymological Dictionary – created by Ron Meyer – If you’re interested to know why some fungi are named for in their latin sense, this is a great resource to get a jist.

Hidden Forrest – A website hosting pictures of all sorts of fungi from New Zealand. – “This section of my website is the largest, and contains a large collection of photographs taken over many years. Many are from the Auckland region of New Zealand, although the site is not limited to this region. This site was not intended as an identification guide, though many used it for this. Rather, its purpose is to show you the beauty and diversity of New Zealand’s fungi.”

As a side note, check out Facebook or Meetup or other social media platforms to network with local Fungi Enthusiasts. There’s even niche groups that go for specific fungi like truffles or lion’s mane or even nicher than that!
