If you’re interested in all things Fungi, there’s two methods I recommend to find local events near you.
The first one is to join your State’s Mycological Society so you can network and partake in the events.
The other is to type into google search “Mushroom events in (your state)” and look at all the events, you can list them chronologically or by distance. There’s plenty to do in almost every month, so you can find a good time and pursue something you’re interested in.
